Getting Started with the WordPress Photo Directory
In this project, I chose to contribute to the WordPress Photo Directory because it is one of the most accessible ways to support the community while also developing creative skills. Photography is something I enjoy, especially capturing natural elements like flowers, so this area felt like a good fit for me.
Before starting, I had little knowledge about how the WordPress Photo Directory works or how contributors submit their photos. I only knew that WordPress is an open-source platform supported by a global community, but I had never actively participated in it.
Preparing for Contribution
To begin, I understood that I needed a WordPress.org account and access to the Photo Directory submission platform. I also needed a device to take original photos, such as my phone, and a basic understanding of photo quality, lighting, and composition.
Through this project, I expect to contribute original images that can be freely used by others, while also improving my photography skills and learning how open-source collaboration works in practice.
This is my starting point before making any actual contributions.
